Playing games is a passion of mine. I actually went and got a Master's Degree in Adventure Education and most of that is playing games. Most had a specific purpose, but games none the less. I am also a Science teacher for most of the year and I use different games to teach life long skills and relate them to the science concepts in class. Nothing like figuring out the accuracy and precision of your washer throws to make you feel bad. I coach football and wrestling at school so my time until March is pretty tied up. In the spring and summer I try to be on my bike daily for some mountain biking or if it is too wet for a long road ride.
I've convinced our PE department at school to have a backyard games unit. So far they play cornhole, ladder golf, Kubb, and Bocce. What a great unit.
I've been playing cornhole for over 20 years, ladder golf for about 10, Kubb for 4, Bocce (backyard) 20, Washers (Octagon) 8, 3 Hole washers (boards only 5 feet apart, but much smaller holes and bigger washers) 15, Lawn Stack(Giant Jenga)and Mollky for about 3 months.
I've got into making games for friends and friends of friends and occasionaly people on craigslist. It is great to get people together and play games rather than sit around and complain about work or the weather. There isn't much work talk once bags start flying through the air so it makes everyone happy.
